How to Market Your Business Without Social Media

How to Market Your Business Without Social Media

When you start a small business, social media can seem like a lifeline. It's easy to understand why: millions of people are on social media every day, so it seems like a no-brainer that you should be there too.

But if you’re looking to design a business that allows you to flourish in your flow state, focusing your marketing efforts on something that wears you out can leave you feeling burnt out and unfulfilled over the long term. This is a topic my clients and I often speak about during our calls, and we’ve got a few ideas to share with you.

If you’re looking for ways to market your business without staying on trend with algorithms and algorithms, then read on!

4 ways to build your business without social media

Create a great website for your business

Your website is the most important tool you have in marketing your business. It establishes your credibility and is the first place your clients and customers will look to learn more about your services and products. Your website needs to be easy to navigate, mobile friendly and effectively communicate your offer.

Adding a blog where you talk about your services and industry, can establish your business as an authoritative figure. As you create content online, this will help clients find you through SEO and attract potential clients that are a great fit for your business.

Get out there and connect

One of the best ways to market your business is to meet and talk with people. Connecting and building relations opens up a whole world of potential contacts and opportunities. And, the events don’t have to be related to what you do.

For instance, at the moment I’m learning a lot about the Financial Independence and Relax Early (F.I.R.E) movement. At a recent event in London, I met some wonderful like-minded people that shared similar topics of interest and were open to discussing ideas.

Check out Meetup groups in your local area. Events hosted by groups whose mission aligns with yours; can allow you to mingle and ask questions.

Guest posting

Guest posting is a great way to quickly establish credibility for your brand. It not only increases your SEO but also leverages the SEO of the website you are writing for. This can bring you referral traffic for years to come.

The more backlinks to your website, the better your content performs. Plus, getting your name out there on other websites will provide visibility and help you tap into other audiences.

Leverage your existing relationships

You don’t have to wait to have someone ask you for help. Ask for referrals or recommendations from the people you know and trust already. Even if someone is not in the position to need what you offer, they may pass your details on to someone else who might be.

Be proactive about sharing your work with people in your network. You never know who’s around the corner :)

You don’t need to be on all the popular platforms to promote yourself and get your name out there. Stay true to what feels right for you and thrive on your business journey.
